As a child, I was in love with Narnia…and magical wardrobes. I must have read the series a thousand times…and still would read them again.
How thrilling then, when Jemma, editor of The Little Book, and I started planning a Narnia-themed shoot for the winter edition of the magazine. Our forest shoot was magical. I hope you think so too.
“I wrote this story for you, but when I began it I had not realized that girls grow quicker than books. As a result you are already too old for fairy tales, and by the time it is printed and bound you will be older still. But some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again. You can then take it down from some upper shelf, dust it, and tell me what you think of it.” C.S. Lewis
“Once a King in Narnia, always a King in Narnia. But don’t go trying to use the same route twice. Indeed, don’t try to get there at all. It’ll happen when you’re not looking for it. And don’t talk too much about it even among yourselves. And don’t mention it to anyone else unless you find that they’ve had adventures of the same sort themselves. What’s that? How will you know? Oh, you’ll know all right. Odd things, they say-even their looks-will let the secret out. Keep your eyes open. Bless me, what do they teach them at these schools.”
For anyone living locally….The next edition of The Little Book will be out in stores on 9 November. Look for it in town!
And PS. Don’t forget the ‘Meet the Artist’ event at Dorney Court Kitchen Gardens this Saturday, 10 November between 1-3pm. I will be taking Facebook headshots for anyone there AND will be raffling off a £200 gift certificate toward a portrait session. Hope to see you there!
PPS. I’ve had a few queries about the gorgeous dresses and petticoat. They are from Poppy and can be found here. :)
